Prehistoric Museum Hauff
The museum shows a fantastic marine world with ichthyosaurs, plesiosaurs, crocodile dinosaurs and pterosaurs, as well as large colonies of eocrinoids, ammonites and belemnites from the former Jurassic Sea on well over 1000 square metres of exhibition space.
Beschreibung
The exhibition of fossils is vividly accompanied by information panels, dioramas, videos and computer animations. How the fossils were formed millions of years ago is explained just as vividly as the work of the museum workshop, where the remains of the primordial ocean dwellers are carefully uncovered. The most impressive specimen in the museum is the world's largest colony of eocrinoids.
For an impression of how imposing the inhabitants of the Earth were in the Jurassic period 180 million years ago, visit the Dino Park outside the museum: there you can see life-size replicas of eight dinosaurs.
