Join us on a tour of Esslingen's old winegrowers' suburb. In medieval times, Beutau was Esslingen's winegrowing district. The city tour (approx. 1.5 hours) takes in the typical old town alleys, half-timbered houses, farmsteads, wine presses, and much more.
The smallest of the historic suburbs has disappeared somewhat from view since the construction of the ring road. Unfairly so, because the former winegrowers' quarter shows almost everything that Esslingen stands for in a very small area: typical old town alleys, half-timbered houses, farmsteads and wine presses, as well as the only remaining section of the city fortifications with the original moat. Breathtaking views of the old town, the castle, and the Frauenkirche await you on this extraordinary guided tour. Of course, the secret of the name “Beutau” will also be revealed.
Note to participants
On Saturdays, the Jewish cemetery is not accessible due to the Sabbath. The tour is not barrier-free. Good footwear is recommended.
