Here you will find lots of interesting information about guided tours in Esslingen am Neckar.

The events take place in all weathers and also during the Christmas market. Please make sure you are dressed appropriately.

Public tours are suitable for individuals or couples. They take place on pre-set dates. Group tours are intended for company outings, private groups, etc. who would like to book a guided tour on their preferred date.

The meeting point for almost all city tours is in front of the city information office/ on the market square. The meeting point is explicitly stated in every written booking confirmation or on every ticket.

Most guided tours last 1.5 hours. Only a few - e.g. "Cellar, Crypt, Catacombs" - last two hours. Guided tours for school classes or children are limited to a maximum of one hour. On request, very flexible times can be arranged for individual group tours.

Our tour guides work on a freelance basis. Therefore, requests for group tours can only be booked and processed on a binding basis.

The staff at the City Information Office can make a non-binding ticket reservation. This expires after three working days at the latest if the ticket has not been collected by then.

It is easy to get on and off the bus at the places indicated on the map. From there it is only a few minutes' walk to the market square / city information.

Arrival by train: Esslingen train station (N). From here you can reach the market place in approx. 5-8 minutes on foot: B 10 exit in the direction of Esslingen a.N. / Zentrum. You will find various car parks along the old town ring road.

- The guide will wait a maximum of 30 minutes for registered groups. If you are expected to be more than 5 minutes late, please let us know.
- Unfortunately, the guide cannot wait for public tours. Our open tours start on time.

There are several public toilets in the Old Town:
- Bahnhofsvorplatz
- Agneshof (near the city information office)
- Some restaurants participate in the "Nice Toilets" campaign. Stickers on the entrance door indicate this.

- After your individually booked group tour has taken place, you will receive an invoice from us by email.
- Tickets for the regular weekend guided tours of the Old Town can be paid for in cash to the guide
- Tickets purchased on our website can be paid for by digital payment system (credit card or Paypal)
- Tickets can also be purchased at the City Information Centre. You can pay cash or by credit card. -

- Registered groups: We can make changes free of charge up to three weeks before the date at the latest, subject to availability. We will endeavour to find a new date together. From three weeks before the tour date, we reserve the right to charge a flat fee of €15 for rebooking. In the event of cancellations, we must charge the following cancellation fees in accordance with our General Terms and Conditions: Three weeks to three working days before the booked tour: 50 %, from three working days to no-show 100 % of the total price.If Esslinger Stadtmarketing & Tourismus GmbH acts as an agent for a tour (Fa. nexTour, Fa. WannaSup, Fa. Kreativ plus, Fa. Sektkellerei Kessler, Fa. Teamwerk Esslingen) or if external partial services are included in the tour, the terms and conditions of the cooperating organisers apply.
- Individual tickets for public tours: These tickets are generally excluded from exchange and return. However, you can pass your ticket on to acquaintances/friends so that it does not expire.

- for single tickets for public tours, children (6-12 years) pay 5 euros for the "Old Town Tour"; 9 euros for the "Right or Wrong" tour.
- Families who present a municipal culture pass may take part in an "Old Town Tour" free of charge- State family pass holders take part in the "Old Town Tour" free of charge.

A maximum of 25 people take part in a public tour. If there are more participants, the group will be divided.

If we have to cancel a tour, e.g. because a guide has fallen ill at short notice, we will inform you by phone. So that we can reach you, please always state your mobile number when booking.

There are currently no restrictions because of Covid19. The tours will all take place as usual. Should this change, we will indicate appropriate rules on our website.
